Iolite Modular LED Downlight from Nora Lighting Wins Product Innovation Award

COMMERCE, CA Nora Lighting’s Iolite modular LED downlight has won a Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural SSL magazine, reported Fred Farzan, Nora Lighting president and CEO.

The award honors the most innovative LED/solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market, while also recognizing the companies that manufacture these light sources.

“The PIA program recognizes industry leaders committed to making solid-state lighting a truly sustainable technology,” said Architectural SSL Editor Jim Crockett.

“Back in 2007 when we started Architectural SSL, it was very difficult to find any LED products. Almost a decade later, the challenge is not finding an LED product, it’s identifying the good ones-thus the PIAs, which we hope will help lighting decision-makers everywhere make more informed choices, or at the least, point them in a good direction,” said Crockett.

“We are very pleased to accept this award,” said Nora Lighting’s Farzan. “It honors the hard work and dedication of the Nora Lighting team to develop advanced LED products that incorporate both creative technology and viability in the marketplace,” he said.

Iolite was recently introduced by NSpec, the architectural and commercial division of Nora Lighting. The fixture features an innovative concept: an LED core module, which is compatible with dedicated patent pending downlight housings in various dimming and voltage options. The patent pending design allows the driver to be easily changed from below the ceiling.

Iolite is available with 1”, 2” and 4” apertures for a minimal architectural appearance and offers more than 100 design possibilities for general, accent and wall-washing applications. The 4” model can also be retrofitted as an adjustable downlight.

Each Iolite includes a 60° beam spread (installed), along with 25° and 40° reflectors. A 15° beam spread is optional. Reflectors are field changeable without tools.

The Iolite 1” downlight features 12W/600 lumens/95 CRI output in round and square styles with a sharp edge or bull-nose soft curve.

The 2” and 4” adjustable downlights feature 14W/800 lumens/95 CRI output in round and square with gimbal, gimbal regress, regress cone and deep regress styles. Most fixtures are cULus listed for wet application.

Iolite’s modular design and choice of finish trims, including new matte powder white, allow customization for any application.

Nora Lighting has been a pioneer in the development and introduction of LED technology and NSpec is the architectural and commercial lighting division. The company features one of the industry’s most extensive selections of LED products for new construction, retrofits or remodeled LED applications.

Nora’s comprehensive LED product line includes: LED dedicated and retrofit downlights; LED track and rail fixtures; LED edge-lit panels; LED MLS (multi-lighting systems); LED linear and under cabinet lightbars; LED puck lights; LED high-output, Hy-Brite, side-lit, CCT (color correlated) RGB, RGBW and standard tape lights; LED pendants; LED step lights; and LED emergency / exit signs.
