Investment in World-leading New R&D Lab Will Put TMAT Streets Ahead of Competitors

Chesterfield – Blachford Acoustics Group has agreed to invest in a world-leading Centre of Excellence for polyurethane development that will allow TMAT to create ‘the next evolution of acoustic products and solutions'.

The investment in the lab would strictly be for the purposes of R and D and the invention of new acoustic materials and components.

The move is designed to not only set TMAT apart from its competitors but also to put it ‘streets ahead' of the automotive industry in regards to innovative noise, vibration and harshness solutions.

Jason Lippitt, TMAT MD, said: "This is the kind of ambitious development we were all excited by the prospect of when Blachford Acoustics Group purchased TMAT in December 2014."

"When you think about it, it's considerably easier to make a car quiet than it is a massive industrial or agricultural vehicle. They are completely different products and industrial vehicle users deserve dedicated resources."

"We want to create the kind of environment and facility that will help our talented chemists thrive and develop game-changing acoustic solutions for global OEMs."

"Ultimately, we want to create the next evolution of products to offer to our potential and existing customers."

The new Centre of Excellence for polyurethane development is expected to be completed within the next year.

Blachford Acoustics Group (www.blachford.com) purchased Chesterfield-based TMAT in December 2014. In doing so, it became the world's only complete interiors/acoustic Industrial Vehicles supplier.
