Intergraph® Acquires Norwegian Pressure Vessel Design Software Company OhmTech A/S

Visual Vessel Design solution expands Intergraph vessel analysis capabilities

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Intergraph® Process, Power Marine, part of Hexagon and the world's leading provider of enterprise engineering software to the process, power and marine industries, has acquired OhmTech A/S of Stavanger, Norway, a provider of pressure vessel design software for more than 30 years. OhmTech's technical and development staff in Norway have joined Intergraph as part of the acquisition.

The acquisition of OhmTech and its Visual Vessel Design software represents a pressure vessel market share expansion into Europe for Intergraph, as well as the addition of multi-language support for important European design and construction codes and standards. Visual Vessel Design is a graphical Microsoft® Windows® program for the calculation and design of pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers and boilers to different international and local design codes. The software is used by vessel fabricators, petroleum refiners, oil and engineering companies, process companies and a number of independent consultants.

Visual Vessel Design complements the capabilities and global acceptance of Intergraph PV Elite®, the company's complete solution for vessel and heat exchanger design, analysis and evaluation that has experienced year-on-year growth since 2010. With the acquisition of Visual Vessel Design, Intergraph has extended its position as the world's No. 1 provider of enterprise-wide plant creation, engineering, construction and asset management solutions for the process, power and marine industries.

Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power Marine president, said, "This acquisition ensures the continued adoption and development of OhmTech technology within the Intergraph family of solutions, so we are excited about the many opportunities it brings. We are especially pleased to announce that OhmTech's technical and development staff will bring their experience and talents to Intergraph to support the continued development of advanced integrated plant design and engineering analysis solutions for our global markets."

Rick Allen, president of Intergraph CADWorx® Analysis Solutions, added, "With its ease of use and strong graphical visualization capabilities, Visual Vessel Design software fits nicely within the Intergraph PP&M product solution suite. We know OhmTech customers are among the most loyal in the industry, and we intend to ensure that each and every current, and future, user of this technology is in good hands with Intergraph."
