Innovative Plastech takes 2nd at the Annual Society of Plastics Engineers Thermoforming Parts Competition.

A year after winning the Judge's Prize for best overall part and the Gold Medal for The Roll-Fed Food Category at the Society of Plastics Engineers Thermoforming Parts Competition, Innovative Plastech returned to the podium as the Silver Medal Winner for the Roll-Fed Industrial Category for a set of interlocking trays to hold and display products in retail refrigerators, formed from black recycled RPET.

According to the Society of Plastic Engineers: "These trays are designed to sit on flat retail refrigerator shelves and keep the products stable, even while customers have access to surrounding product.  Undercut snaps are designed into the pockets of the bowl tray to hold the bowls in the tray tight enough to keep from being knocked over, but loose enough for customers to easily pick one up." All three trays in this set are made from 0.025-inch Black RPET, a color that helps to minimize the tray itself and bring more attention to the product in the tray.

"Three awards in two years over two different categories of products shows IPI's design acumen and flexibility.  We are already looking forward to next year's competition; we have a lot of interesting products in the works"  said Marianne Danielsen, a National Account Manager for Innovative Plastech.
