Innova Dynamics and PPG Industries Have Established a Strategic Collaboration

SAN FRANCISCO and PITTSBURGH - Innova Dynamics, an electronic materials company and the developer of the Innlay™ technology platform that transforms surfaces and the world of touch, and PPG Industries, the world's leading coatings company, announced today that they have established an agreement for strategic collaboration.

Innova Dynamics Innlay™ inks and screen-printable paste products are used to replace the use of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) for conductive materials and photolithography for patterning that together represent the predominant costs in the manufacturing of touch sensors for consumer electronics. Moreover, Innova Dynamics' transparent conductive film technologies based on silver nanowires enable new designs beyond the reach of today's industry standard ITO film, such as foldable or flexible devices or cost-effective touch solutions for devices larger than 10-inch tablets.

With the launch of this collaboration, PPG Industries will become the primary manufacturer of Innlay™ inks and patterning pastes for Innova Dynamics in the Asia Pacific Region.

The parties will also work together to customize PPG Industries' silver conductor ink products for use with Innova Dynamics Innlay™ materials. Once optimized and qualified, Innova Dynamics will exclusively promote those silver conductor inks to Innova Dynamics' customers for touch sensor applications.

Finally, PPG Industries has also secured an exclusive license to use the Innlay™ Technology in a new advanced automotive application, which is now under development.

"The synergies between PPG Industries and Innova Dynamics are far-reaching, where both companies are focused on surface innovation. This collaboration is an exciting development for Innova Dynamics and one that we hope may lead to additional collaboration opportunities in the future," says Dan Button, President and CEO of Innova Dynamics. "By aligning with PPG Industries, Innova Dynamics has a reliable supplier of high quality products for our customers."

VP of PPG Industries' Industrial Coatings business, Shelley Bausch explains, "As a worldwide leader in coatings and formulations, and with our broad presence in Asia, PPG Industries is well positioned to grow its electronic materials business in the touch industry through its strategic relationship with Innova Dynamics."

Innova Dynamics will be showcasing its Innlay™ inks, patterning pastes, and its related products at the Society for Information Displays DisplayWeek Conference held at the San Jose Convention Center on May 31 - June 5 (www.displayweek.org).
