Indium Corporation's Brook Sandy-Smith Awarded IPC Distinguished Committee Service Award

Indium Corporation’s Brook Sandy-Smith, Product Specialist for PCB Assembly Materials, was presented with a Distinguished Committee Service Award by the IPC at SMTA International in Fort Worth, Texas on October 15.

The award recognizes Sandy-Smith’s contributions toward the development of J-STD-006C, which provides requirements for electronics-grade solder alloys and fluxed and non-fluxed solid solders for electronics soldering applications. She has been an active member of this committee for over three years.

“Indium Corporation’s involvement with IPC standards committees allows us to contribute to making sure these standards reflect the needs of the industry,” Sandy-Smith said.

Sandy-Smith serves as a technical liaison between Indium Corporation’s customers and internal departments, such as research and development and production, to ensure that customers have the best quality and selection of products. She earned degrees in chemical engineering, with a focus on materials, and German language from the international engineering program at the University of Rhode Island.
