In the Lasers & Material Processing Division Jenoptik Receives a Large Order Worth 13 Million US Dollars from the USA

Continuing success for Jenoptik's medical lasers, particularly in North America. Jenoptik was awarded a large order in the Lasers & Material Processing division. Over the next three years the optoelectronics group will supply a US customer with lasers worth approx. 13 million US dollars (approx. 10 million euros). The lasers are destined for medical use. As such, the Jenoptik Group is expanding its globally leading position in the area of medical lasers and establishing itself in North America as a leading provider of medical lasers. More than 15,000 Jenoptik medical lasers are in use worldwide, enabling millions of patients to receive non-invasive surgery and consequently an improved quality of life. In the medical technology field, lasers are used in ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery and urology. Jenoptik is one of the few providers worldwide with the capability to mass-manufacture the complex lasers and laser systems and achieve the high quality levels and process reliability required for medical applications. Jenoptik continues to further develop the lasers and since 2010 its product offering has also included a compact design of the tried and tested laser for use in various medical devices.
