IDG's Computerworld Recognizes Verizon Wireless CIO as One of Its 2008 Premier 100 IT Leaders
Ajay Waghray Cited for Excellence in Information Technology Leadership
BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Dec. 11 -- IDG's Computerworld magazine has recognized Verizon Wireless' Chief Information Officer Ajay Waghray as one of Computerworld's 2008 Premier 100 IT Leaders in its annual survey released today.
Computerworld's 2008 Premier 100 IT Leaders honors one hundred IT executives who have led their organizations by mentoring and motivating employees; envisioning innovative solutions to business challenges; and effectively managing and executing IT strategies. Waghray will be recognized at Computerworld's upcoming Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference held March 9-11, 2008, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla. Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference involves companies across all industries, as well as government and educational organizations.
Waghray was selected from hundreds of IT leaders nationwide, who were measured against Computerworld's IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations, and evaluated by the editors and by a panel of outside judges. The candidates were asked about a range of topics, including their backgrounds, work experiences, special accomplishments and leadership styles.
At Verizon Wireless, Waghray is responsible for the company's information technology strategy, systems portfolio development and operation of all supporting infrastructure.
