Honeywell Signs $51 Million Agreement with EasyJet Airline to Provide 131-9A APU and Maintenance

Agreement to Cover easyJet's Entire A320 Fleet

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, UK - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today that easyJet Airline Company Ltd. has selected Honeywell's 131-9A auxiliary power unit (APU), and extended maintenance service for their Airbus A320 family of aircraft in a 10-year $51 million contract.

"Honeywell's 131-9A APU reduces fuel consumption by 5 percent, and offers 25 percent savings due to higher reliability compared to competitive designs," said Mike Madsen, Vice President of Airlines, Honeywell Aerospace. "Our maintenance package will help easyJet manage expenses by reducing unscheduled repairs, and providing them with the necessary repair, support and engineering services to keep their equipment operating at peak performance."

Honeywell's 131-9A APU is the most commonly used APU for single-aisle commercial transport operating on more than 1,700 aircraft. An APU is a small turbine engine that provides bleed air for the main engine starting and electrical power for cockpit and galley systems. Honeywell's 131-9A averages more than 10,000 hours between unscheduled repair events, a more than 60 percent improvement over other APUs in its class size.

The contract covers the 180 Airbus aircraft operated by easyJet today plus the 53 aircraft planned to be delivered by 2013, and covers APU maintenance services until 2020. The repair services will be performed in Raunheim, Germany. The A320 family that easyJet operates includes the A319, A320 and A321.

Additional Honeywell equipment available on Airbus aircraft include fuel controls, electric power systems, communication/navigation radios, traffic/ground/weather surveillance systems, flight management system, inertial navigation systems, environmental control systems, wheels, brakes, and exterior LED lighting.
