Henkel Hosts Loctite Medical Device Adhesive Seminar

Hands-On Adhesive Workshop for Medical Device Design, Product andManufacturing Engineers

Rocky Hill, Conn. – Henkel Corporation will host thefirst Loctite Medical Device Adhesive Seminar of 2013 on Tuesday, May 21,in Minneapolis, Minn. This comprehensive program will provide design,product and manufacturing engineers with an overall knowledge of adhesivetechnologies used in the design and assembly of medical devices.

Engineers who attend the Loctite Medical Device Adhesive Seminar benefitfrom intensive educational information and hands-on demonstrations ofadhesives and equipment. Engineers walk out with a solid knowledge ofadhesives and understand how to automate manual processes, improveprofitability/process efficiency, decrease costs, improve productquality/reliability, and reduce process cycle times and work-in-progress.

Topics covered during this full-day training seminar include proper jointdesign for adhesive assembly, selecting the appropriate adhesivetechnology, and processing-equipment requirements. The program willprovide an overview of each of the major families of ISO 10993biocompatible engineering adhesives. including light cure, cyanoacrylate,epoxy, polyurethane and silicone technologies.

The Loctite Medical Device Adhesive Seminar will be held at the CrownPlaza Minneapolis North, starting at 8:30 a.m. with registration andcoffee, and running until 3:00 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by EllsworthAdhesives and features information on the latest innovations for medicaldevice assembly.

These innovations include the LoctiteR AssureCureR inline system forquantitatively and cost effectively assessing the degree of cure of lightcure adhesives; toughened light cure cyanoacrylate adhesives that cureeffectively in both visible and shadowed areas; and light cure siliconeadhesives that provide superior flexibility and high bond strength onsilicone and plastic substrates.
