Harman Adds Omni Soundbar System to Harman Kardon Wireless HD Audio Line

A sophisticated sound solution, the Harman Kardon Omni Bar streams audio wirelessly throughout your home and serves as a multichannel system

LAS VEGAS - CES 2015 - Coming on the heels of three other product announcements for Harman Kardon's Wireless HD Audio System, HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated (NYSE:HAR), announces the Harman Kardon Omni Bar.

The Harman Kardon Omni Bar is an innovative 2.1-channel soundbar which includes a high-performance wireless subwoofer. The Harman Kardon Omni Bar not only delivers a rich audio experience when connected to a TV, but it also can join a standard Wi-Fi network and deliver pure, high-definition audio wirelessly as part of the Omni multi-room network. The Omni lineup with new Omni Bar is controlled and configured wirelessly by way of the Harman Kardon controller app.  For added flexibility the Omni Bar also has built-in Bluetooth connectivity allowing you to access and stream music straight from your phone, tablet or laptop. One Touch Follow Me Audio - LINK button allows you to walk from one room to another while the music follows you at the touch of a button, even when streaming from Bluetooth.

As a new family member of the Harman Kardon wireless HD Audio system, the Harman Kardon Omni Bar makes it possible to enjoy multi-room wireless audio regardless of where you are in the home. The Harman Kardon wireless HD Audio line also includes the Omni 10 and Omni 20 wireless HD loudspeakers and the Adapt wireless adapter, all powered by Blackfire Research wireless media technology. Unlike other wireless streaming systems available, it supports 24 bit/96kHz HD audio streaming for a superior sound experience. The future-proof design is supported through automatic software upgrades and improvements that are automatically delivered through the Wi-Fi connection to the controller app.

"The Harman Kardon Omni Bar takes 'flexible' to uncharted heights in enhancing the home audio experience," said Michael Mauser, president of HARMAN lifestyle. "This product places more choices in the hands of the user when it comes to which speaker streams music or television. The beauty of it is that this power and versatility are contained within a single product."

The Harman Kardon Omni Bar and wireless subwoofer leverage Harman's decades of audio expertise and produces a rich and immersive audio experience right down to every bass note and pin drop.  As part of a whole home Omni system, the Harman Kardon Omni Bar allows users to wirelessly stream the same audio, including TV audio, to one or all of the wireless speakers in the house as well as being able to select a different wireless audio source for each room; all controlled by the Harman Kardon Controller App. So, audio from the TV can be sent to multiple locations at the same time multiple music sources could be controlled and played from additional locations. The options are endless.

The Omni subwoofer has been engineered to provide several mounting and location options. It can be placed on its included floor stand, mounted on the wall behind a TV or even hidden under a sofa or chair. In terms of available connections, the Omni Bar supports HDMI, Optical, Bluetooth or 3.5mm mini jack to maximize the ways in which the Harman Kardon Omni Bar can be connected to a TV.

The Harman Kardon Omni Bar features one-button LINK control, allowing you to cycle through the available streams before making your selection.  You are also able to select party mode, which will synchronize every Omni speaker in the home and Omni Bar to play back the same source. This type of room-to-room control simplifies the streaming experience by allowing control without the need to use a phone or tablet.
