Greater Flexibility from Integrated Tool Holders with Exchangeable-Head Coupling
This new range of integrated tool holders from Sandvik Coromant is designed for compatibility with CoroMill 316 exchangeable-head (EH) tools. Available on March 1, the holders achieve a more secure performance than cylindrical shanks clamped in a precision chuck, with comparable tool overhang, regarding torque transmission, run out and accuracy.
When all machining variables are the same, integrated holders with an EH coupling also provide shorter total programming length and higher stability when compared to cylindrical shank tool holders.
With modular tooling possibilities, the holders can be used in many tooling combinations to suit applications and machine tools using a smaller inventory of standard items. For greater tooling flexibility, these holders also reduce set-up times, require minimum adjustment of tool length for each application and guarantee stable performance.
