Gateway Chemical Technology, Inc. Becomes IQsynthesis

September 15, 2006, St. Louis, MO - Gateway Chemical Technology, Inc has been renamed IQsynthesis. Providing custom synthesis and process development services since 1995, the company assists the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and specialty chemical industries in the early phase production of molecules for research and development. The new name is part of a re-branding effort by Chemir Analytical Services, who acquired the company in May 2006.

Chemir Analytical Services is a leader in providing non-routine customized chemical analysis to a wide variety of industries. "Clients have been requesting synthetic chemistry services, and we sought an acquisition to best fill this need," explains Shri Thanedar, Ph.D., and CEO of Chemir Analytical Services. "We chose the name IQsynthesis to emphasize the high caliber of scientists in this excellent organization. IQsynthesis also reflects our focus on innovation and quality, as we assist companies in the discovery and development of new molecules."

"These molecules are the first steps in the development of new medications and therapies," explains Robert Kaufman, Ph.D., President of IQsynthesis. "We help large to virtual companies save time, stay on schedule, and attain their goal of creating molecules for a better life." From milligram to multi-kilogram scales, synthesis services include molecules of pharmaceutical intermediates, bioorganic compounds, as well as specialty, fine and agrochemicals. Other services include synthesis of analytical standards, metabolites, tox lot batches, stable isotope labeled compounds, key intermediates, custom surfactants, combinational platforms, extraction/purification of natural products and process development. Plans are underway to expand laboratory space and staff, as well as develop infrastructure and systems for cGMP regulated synthesis.

"As our Chemir group of companies serves more and more pharmaceutical clients, we understand the need for a broad and diverse offering of contract service providers," says Thanedar. Currently, the Chemir group of companies include IQsynthesis, Chemir Analytical Services, Azopharma, a pharmaceutical contract service provider located in Florida, and CAS-MI, a laboratory serving the paints, coatings, and polymer industries, located in Michigan. Total sales for the company are expected to reach $24 million in 2006, with anticipated goal of $50 million by 2009.

IQsynthesis will also launch a new website, www.IQsynthesis.com on September 15, 2006
