Future Facilities Releases Version 9 of Thermal Design and Simulation Tool, 6SigmaET

Named "Product of the Year" at the 2015 Engineering Simulation Awards Show, innovative thermal simulation software uses new computational solver for faster and more accurate analysis and adds enhanced functionality and user interface

San Jose, Calif. – Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA), provider of engineering simulation software for design and operational planning, today announced that its newest offering, Release 9 (R9) of 6SigmaET has won "Product of the Year" at the 2015 Engineering Simulation Awards Show.

6SigmaET, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation tool, can help reduce the cost of designing small, high-powered lighting devices, such as LEDS, while improving their performance. In addition, 6SigmaET brings a high level of productivity to electronics cooling design. Due to its ease-of-use, 6SigmaET overcomes many of the traditional problems that have plagued analysis tools. Providing substantial automation and intelligence, it is utilized by a global community of design engineers.

Release 9 of 6SigmaET is an electronics thermal design and simulation tool created for engineers without a background in thermal design. Release 9 offers a unique Multi-Level Unstructured Solver, which combines a new gridding technique with unstructured solver technology to increase the refinement in models while keeping the grid count low, allowing for faster solution times. To further increase operator productivity, an updated user interface and advanced model building tools are also new to this release of 6SigmaET.

Engineering Simulation's "Product of the Year" award is open to both software and service providers that have created new products that push the boundaries of functionality and usability. The award is presented to the company which has shown the greatest innovation in developing a product which has delivered a step change in performance. Product innovation can be achieved through technology, customer service or consultancy and judges look for a successful solution that displays boldness, imagination and a novel outlook.

"We are honored that Release 9 of SigmaET has been named ‘Product of the Year' at the 2015 Engineering Simulation Awards Show," said Sherman Ikemoto, Director of Future Facilities. "Release 9 is both a powerful and intuitive modeling tool for end users who don't have extensive backgrounds in thermal design. It is rewarding to see it recognized by such a prestigious organization in the simulation industry."
