Freeman Technology to Present "Evaluating the Design Space for the Batch Manufacture of an OTC Medicine" at IFPAC 2015

Tim Freeman, President of Freeman Technology Inc., will present “Evaluating the Design Space for the Batch Manufacture of an OTC Medicine” at IFPAC 2015.

The presentation will show how a Quality by Design approach to wet granulation requires manufacturers to fully understand the relationships between processing variables, including powder/granule properties, and Critical Quality Attributes of the resultant solid dosage form in order to reliably define a Design Space.

The annual meeting will be held in Arlington, Washington D.C. from January 26th to 28th and visitors will also have the chance to meet the Freeman Technology team and see the FT4 Powder Rheometer® on booth #202.

The FT4 Powder Rheometer® is a universal powder tester, measuring bulk, shear and dynamic powder properties, and can test powders in consolidated, aerated and even fluidised states. The system delivers detailed, relevant and precise powder characterisation information that supports the rationalisation and optimisation of powder handling processes at every stage of pharmaceutical manufacture, from formulation through to Quality Control.

ABOUT FREEMAN TECHNOLOGY

Freeman Technology specialises in systems for measuring the flow properties of powders and has over a decade of experience in powder flow and powder characterisation. Expert teams provide detailed know-how alongside the company’s universal powder tester, the FT4 Powder Rheometer®.

The FT4 Powder Rheometer uses patented dynamic methodology, a fully automated shear cell and several bulk property tests to quantify powder properties in terms of flow and processability. Systems are installed around the world across many different industries. They deliver data that maximise process and product understanding, accelerating RD and formulation towards successful commercialisation, and supporting the long term optimisation of powder processes.

Freeman Technology’s headquarters are in Gloucestershire, UK, with operations in the USA and China, and distribution partners in Brazil, France, India, Ireland, Japan and South-East Asia. In 2007 the company received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation and in 2012 the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade www.freemantech.co.uk.
