Fred Pereira to Lead Davis-Standard's Expansion in Asia

(Pawcatuck, Conn.) - Davis-Standard, LLC is pleased to announce that Fred Pereira has joined the company as president of Asia. The addition of Pereira is an integral part of Davis-Standard's plan to increase the company's presence in China and throughout the region. Davis-Standard will open a facility in Suzhou, China, which will be operational by the end of the year.

Pereira brings more than 30 years of business experience throughout Asia, working in various segments of the plastics industry including chemical and engineered materials, specialty additives, packaging, product development and manufacturing. Most recently, he served as vice president and general manager of the Global Fleet and Architecture division of Avery Dennison, Inc. in Shanghai, China. Prior to Avery Dennison, Pereira held leadership positions for Alcoa, Inc., Honeywell, Inc., and ICI Industrial Chemicals PTE LTD.

"Fred brings a wealth of leadership experience and regional knowledge to our management team," said Bob Preston, president and CEO of Davis-Standard, LLC. "We are a global company, but we don't have a global footprint. With the addition of Fred, we will develop a concrete manufacturing presence in China to support our expanding market share and customer service throughout the region."

Pereira will lead efforts to expand regional capabilities in sales, service and process support to better serve current and prospective customers. Davis-Standard also plans to establish a strong procurement and manufacturing team in the region that will report to Pereira. His responsibility includes oversight of the new 4,300 square meter (46,000 square foot) facility in Suzhou.

Earlier this year, Davis-Standard indicated a strong move toward further involvement in Asia when the company hired Preston, who also brings extensive international business experience having held leadership positions abroad for Eastman, Allied Signal and Johnson Electric.
