Fluke Connect reliability Platform Recognized by Control Engineering

Fluke Condition Monitoring and 279 FC Thermal Multimeter, both part of the Fluke Connect system, are finalists in the magazine's awards

EVERETT, Wash., Nov. 17, 2016 - Fluke Condition Monitoring and the Fluke® 279 FC Thermal Multimeter are finalists in the Hardware - Handheld Test, Measurement, Calibration category of the Control Engineering 2017 Engineers' Choice Awards. The awards honor the best control, instrumentation, and automation products as chosen by the magazine's subscribers.

This is the first honor for both products and the 23rd for the underlying Fluke Connect® system. Fluke Connect is the company's full-feature SaaS reliability platform that enables users to receive, store, visualize, and report electronic measurement data from more than 40 Fluke Connect wireless testtools and condition monitoring sensors.

Fluke Condition Monitoring

Fluke Conditioning Monitoring is a new system of rugged voltage, current, temperature, and power sensors that install without retrofitting and can be moved from asset to asset or left in place for continuous monitoring. With Fluke Condition Monitoring, maintenance managers get a practical, scalable system that delivers the continuous data and alarms they need to prevent equipment downtime without costly equipment retrofits or specialized training.

Maintenance teams can set the system up and begin monitoring in a matter of minutes, with the sensors transmitting measurements to the cloud up to every second. Equipment data and alarm notifications are viewed through the Fluke Connect platform on a smartphone or web browser.

The Fluke Connect reliability platform now compiles measurements from both the Fluke Condition Monitoring sensors and Fluke Connect wireless tools such as the Fluke 279 FC Thermal Multimeter. Those measurements integrate alongside historical data and with a history of work orders to create a comprehensive view of equipment health. The wireless, cloud-based solution overcomes legacy system silos and IT conflicts, works on any equipment type and helps teams stay effective while monitoring issues in different locations.

Fluke 279 FC Thermal Multimeter

The 279 FC Thermal Multimeter is the first test tool to integrate a full-featured true-rms digital multimeter (DMM) with a thermal camera in one device to speed troubleshooting. The 279 FC allows technicians to quickly and safely check for hot spots in fuses, wires, insulators, connectors, splices, and switches with the imager and then troubleshoot and analyze issues with the DMM. By combining two powerful test tools into one, electricians and technicians can carry fewer tools and have a higher level of confidence they have the tools handy to solve problems.

In addition to measuring both electrical and thermal properties, the 279 FC can transmit test results via Fluke Connect. Both numeric data from electrical measurements and graphic files from related thermal measurements can be stored to the cloud, shared with colleagues and built into reports.

The thermal multimeter features 15 electrical measurement functions including ac/dc voltage, resistance, continuity, capacitance, diode test, min/max, and frequency. The optional iFlex® clamp can wrap around conductors and wires in tight, hard-to-reach spaces and expands its measurement capabilities to include ac current up to 2500 A. The 3.5 inch (8.89 cm) full-color LCD screen makes for easy, clear viewing of images.
