FlexArm Donates Tapping System to Local Vocational Training Program

Wapakoneta OH – Apollo Career Center is a well-known and established training center just outside Lima, Ohio. They offer vocational programs committed to training area youth and adults for tomorrow's careers.

Apollo is proud of its training program and the workforce development it provides, according to its website at www.apollocareercenterhs.com. Among the graduates of the Apollo High School program is the president of FlexArm, Inc., located in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Nick Kennedy credits Apollo with providing him with a solid background and experience in the machining realm. As a successful businessman, he understands the need for a skilled workforce. He also knows the quality that goes into the products manufactured by FlexArm. To honor the achievements of Apollo and enable their students to experience machine tapping in the classroom, he contacted his former Apollo instructor to donate an A32 tapping system to Apollo for students to use.

In the Apollo Applied Technology Solutions (ATS) program, students learn the basics of using equipment as a foundation for their future. Students learn how to do manual tapping at Apollo. The donation of the FlexArm tapping machine will give them the opportunity to take another step for their future in using a tapping machine. The FlexArm tapping machine keeps the tap straight for a quick and smooth tapping process. The system is designed to save on taps while giving consistent results.

To celebrate the international #GivingTuesday event on December 2, arrangements were made for FlexArm to donate a complete tapping system to Apollo. This included a tapping arm, motor, all components, tap holders and a cart for the equipment. FlexArm is thrilled to give back to the next generation of machinists in the local community.
