Fage AG Chooses Westfalia Technologies for New Automated Storage & Retrieval System

YORK, Pa., January 10, 2007 - Fage USA Dairy Industry, Inc., based in Athens Greece, has chosen Westfalia Technologies (www.WestfaliaUSA.com) to supply an Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) for the warehouse portion of a new yogurt manufacturing plant in Johnstown, NY. The facility is Fage's first manufacturing facility in the U.S. market, and is due for completion by late 2007.

The Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) has been designed as a single-aisle satellite system, and will store 1,638 pallets of finished yogurt and cheese products in a 35° F warehouse. The system is fed by a Westfalia pallet conveyor system and includes gravity flow picking lanes, along with two automatic stretch wrap machines. Both the ASRS system and picking functions will be controlled by Westfalia's proprietary modular software, Savanna.NET.
