Through extensive applications engineering work, Mr. Ekiss and Mr. Traver are well versed in materials and manufacturing requirements in Thin Film, Rigid Silicon, and Solar Concentrator applications. Fabrico engineers work closely with solar customers to increase product performance, reduce development time, solve complicated materials-related product cost/performance issues, and stream-line manufacturing. Specifically, Mr. Ekiss helped develop a proprietary slitting process for bus bar materials that yields sliver-free tapes in some of the narrowest widths available in the market. As a result, Fabrico converts more foil tape into bus bar than any other converter.
Additionally, Fabrico utilizes state-of-the-art machinery to custom convert materials for concentrator technology applications, such as high strength foam tape to exact dimensions for edge sealing and thermal insulating materials for heat sinks between the optics unit and the solar cell. With Mr. Travers' assistance, Fabrico has developed unique conversion methods for high-strength foam tapes that adhere the electronics package to concentrator structures.
