Fabricators Find Ideal Solutions with OMAX® JetMachining Centers and MAXIEM(TM) Abrasive Waterjets

MAXIEM brand of high performance, low cost machines made exclusively in the US

Kent, Washington, October 8, 2009 - OMAX Corporation will showcase two of its industry leading abrasive waterjets at the 2009 FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show. Ideal for fabrication, the newly released MAXIEM 1530 with 30 hp high-pressure direct drive 50,000-psi pump will be featured alongside the OMAX 80X JetMachining® Center in booth 6137. FABTECH will be held from November 15 - 18 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

Available at an entry-level price of $70,000, the MAXIEM 1530 integrates proven technologies in a cost-efficient package to provide users with an affordable, highly productive fabricating and metalcutting solution.

"The fabrication market needed a line of basic abrasive waterjet equipment that could also boost productivity," commented Dr. John Cheung, CEO of OMAX. "The MAXIEM line meets that need by providing manufacturers with the speed, flexibility and efficiency of a waterjet at an entry-level price."

The MAXIEM 1530 will be equipped with a 30 hp high-pressure direct drive 50,000-psi pump and Intelli-MAX® Basic, a control containing the core functionality of OMAX's critically acclaimed software. The machine will also feature the patent pending X and Y-axis traction drive system, which is designed to handle an abrasive environment, as well as an Abrasive Nozzle Assembly and a durable abrasive feed system.

The MAXIEM brand of abrasive waterjet machines features a compact design and is ideal for fabrication shops, metal service centers, trade schools, job shops, architectural, sign, stone and gasket shops. For more information, please visit www.maxiemwaterjets.com

Visitors to booth 6137 will also see the 80X JetMachining Center fully demonstrated. Designed with a footprint of 265" x 152" (6731 mm x 3861 mm), the 80X JetMachining Center excels at large scale precision machining of larger or multiple parts out of a variety of materials, including metal, composites and stone. OMAX will demonstrate the JetMachining Center with its new A-Jet, an articulated cutting head that cuts accurate beveled edges at angles determined by the machine operator or part program. The 80X will also feature the OMAX Dual Pump Package, a fully integrated system that utilizes two P4055V pumps to produce unprecedented cutting speed and power and a significant reduction in machining time compared to previous cutting models. Available in a flexible footprint, the package operates on the 3rd generation cutting model of OMAX Intelli-MAX® Premium Software, which is designed to accommodate cutting at 80 hp.

OMAX is committed to developing cutting-edge technology and innovative software to ensure that each customer enjoys the benefits of the industry's best abrasive waterjet machines and accessories.
