July 17, 2007, Toronto, ON - ENGINEERING.com today announced the launch of its newest online feature called Ask@ENGINEERING.com. This new feature allows members to interact with fellow engineers by posting and answering questions and puzzles. Unlike typical forums, the new Ask@ENGINEERING.com feature allows members to use email to submit their questions and receive answers in addition to online posting.
"The goal of the Ask@ENGINEERING.com service is to give the online engineering community a way to get answers to specific questions in the shortest amount of time," said John Hayes, President of ENGINEERING.com. "It is also a fun way for engineers to stump their peers with tough puzzles."
The Ask@ENGINEERING.com feature is similar to that of a forum, but with an engaging twist in the presentation. Questions are categorized by discipline to make it easier to reach out to specific areas of expertise and areas of interest. Both questions and answers are searchable, so that users can search for an answer on a particular topic.
Engineers can accumulate points for asking and answering questions and for posting puzzles. ENGINEERING.com tracks and publishes a Leaderboard of top contributors to Ask@ENGINEERING.com.
