Emerson Network Power Announces ASTEC 50 Watt External Ac-Dc Power Adapters Featuring Triple Outputs

All models also available with full medical approvals

CARLSBAD, Calif. - November 30, 2006 - Emerson Network Power, a business of
Emerson (NYSE: EMR), today launched a series of high efficiency 50 Watt external ac-dc
power adapters featuring triple outputs. The new Astec DPT50 series comprises four
models, offering users a wide choice of fully regulated output voltages. All four models have a universal input that accommodates any voltage in the range 90-264 Vac and 127-300 Vdc, making them suitable for use anywhere in the world.

Astec DPT50 series power adapters provide a very flexible, pre-approved power solution
for a wide variety of portable and desktop applications, including instrumentation,
telecommunications, computer peripheral and test and measurement systems. Each
adapter is also available with full medical safety approvals (non-patient critical) for use in low power medical, dental and laboratory applications such as dialysis machines, monitoring equipment and infusion pump controls. The power adapters span a range of popular low voltage outputs, from 3.3 to 24 Vdc. The DPT53, for example, produces +5, +15 and -15 Vdc outputs, capable of delivering up to 8.0, 2.4 and 0.5 A respectively, providing that the total demanded power does not exceed 50 Watts.

All Astec DPT50 series power adapters are high efficiency switch-mode designs that
comply with the rigorous EN55022-B and FCC part 15 Level B EMC standards for
conducted noise and meet all applicable immunity standards, including EN61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -8 and -11 levels 3. The power supplies also carry a comprehensive set of safety approvals, including UL/CSA 60950-1,VDE/CB EN60950-1 and CE Mark. The medical
versions are fitted with fuses on both live and neutral inputs, have a maximum safety
ground leakage current of 275 A, and are additionally approved to UL/CSA60601 -1, VDEEN60601-1 and CE Mark.

The power adapters have a full load ambient operating temperature range of 0°C to +40°C without de-rating, and are comprehensively protected against overvoltage and overpower conditions, with automatic recovery. All models have a high demonstrated MTBF of 550,000 hours at full load and 25°C ambient. The ac input uses a standard IEC AC 320 connector that accommodates line cords with virtually any appropriate plug configuration, and the dc outputs are provided via a 2-meter cable fitted with a standard 5-pin DIN connector. A green LED indicates that ac power is present.
Astec DPT50 series external power adapters, including models with medical approvals, are available for immediate delivery. Standard lead-time for both types is stock to 8 weeks.

Pricing starts at US$39.00 for the ITE/industrial models and US$44.00 for the medical
models, in OEM quantities.
