Elsevier to Unveil New Amirsys Diagnostic Decision Support and Education Solutions at RSNA 2014

PHILADELPHIA -

Enhanced STATdx 6 for radiology professionals and RADPrimer for radiology residency programs on display at annual Chicago conference

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today unveiled enhancements two Amirsys solutions, STATdx and RADPrimer, at the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting in Chicago.

The new STATdx 6, a diagnostic decision support solution for radiology professionals, has a new look and feel and a flexible platform to continuously bring radiologists current content for confident diagnostic decisions. The platform upgrades will allow STATdx to serve new media types in the future, such as image stacks and annotated video content. Radiologists using the new STATdx 6 can now search across 200,000 high-quality images for reference and decision collaboration with physicians.

RADPrimer, a comprehensive radiology curriculum tool, now enables faculty to assign reading materials and tests across the entire curriculum and has a new Pre-Call Readiness exam, making it a virtual teaching assistant. In addition, RADPrimer's assessment engine now gives residents the ability to take practice quizzes across multiple disciplines and difficulty levels. All 7,000 questions have been updated and categorized as Case-Based or Mulitple Choice.

Earlier this year Elsevier acquired Amirsys, creators of STATdx and RADPrimer.

"For the past 10 years, Amirsys has come to RSNA with vital new information and solutions to help radiologists make confident decisions," says Dr. Ric Harnsberger, Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah, and Vice President of Product and Technology, Elsevier Clinical Solutions. "This year at RSNA we are excited to join the Elsevier team. Together we will continue to provide the solutions radiologists depend on as the authority in radiology."

Dr. Paula Woodward, who leads the Elsevier RADPrimer author team, will receive this year's RSNA Outstanding Educator award. In honor of her accomplishment and contributions to RADPrimer, Elsevier will host the RADPrimer Resident Competition in the Elsevier booth, #1114. Winners of the competition will be awarded the Elsevier Future Thought Leader award at an exclusive event for the best-known radiologists around the world. Dr. Woodward will moderate the competition, and Dr. Anne Osborn, the first-ever recipient of the RSNA Outstanding Educator award, will present the awards to the winning team. The competition will be held Sunday, Nov. 30, 1:30-2:30 p.m. CST and Monday, Dec. 1, 1-2 p.m. CST.

Elsevier will host several Meet the Author events in booths #1100 and #1114. On Monday, attendees can visit with Dr. Brian Coley, author of Caffey's Pediatric Diagnostic Imaging; Dr. Richard Gore, author of the Textbook of Gastrointestinal Radiology; and Dr. Anne Osborn, author of Osborne's Brain and a creator of STATdx. On Tuesday, attendees can meet with Dr. H.
