Electro-Motive Buys ITS Rail


LAGRANGE, Ill., Aug. 27 / -- Electro-Motive Diesel, Inc. (EMD) announced today that in striving to further enhance its aftermarket service offerings to customers worldwide, it has acquired certain assets of ITS Rail Services. EMD is the world's most successful builder of diesel-electric locomotives, and ITS is a premier supplier of technical services, training, and publications for the railway industry.

ITS has successfully performed projects worldwide, including but not limited to Canada, the United States, Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Brazil, India, Zimbabwe, and numerous other countries.

Following the close of the transaction, effective August 24, 2007, ITS will concentrate on offering training for locomotives on a global basis, undertaking international in-country locomotive rebuild projects and supporting EMD in consulting its customers. "ITS is the ideal addition to assist us in our effort to further increase service in a very efficient way," says Dean Roberts, EMD's Vice-President and General Manager Aftermarket North America.
