ECRS Announces Plans to Debut Powerful Mobile Point-of-Sale at the 2012 NRF Annual Convention and Expo


BOONE, N.C., -- ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) will debut its robust mobile CATAPULT(TM) point-of-sale solution at the National Retail Federation (NRF) 101st Convention and Expo to be held January 15-18, 2012 in New York City, NY. ECRS will be showcasing this, along with its other innovative retail automation technology, including a new generation of consumer centric self-checkout, in Booth #3121. The ECRS exhibit is located within the Mobile and Customer Experience Pavilion on the main show floor.

This highly flexible and feature packed mobile POS solution is driven by ECRS's pioneering Java(TM) based Retail Transaction Server(TM) (RTS) technology which extends the proven and award winning CATAPULT POS business logic to mobile POS, traditional POS, and services wherever consumers and transactions intersect. Unlike typical industry offerings that compromise functionality for mobility, nearly 100% of the features found in ECRS's traditional POS system configuration are now available on a mobile device, restriction definable by specific user authorization levels. This Java(TM) based solution is fully enterprise ready, remotely configurable, and ready to scale.

ECRS will be demonstrating its open mobile solution on two different tablet platforms, each of which include a card swipe and barcode scanner. With each device, visitors to the ECRS booth will be able to perform a full range of activities such as touchscreen customization, customer association, loyalty redemption, gift card activation, gift card redemption, item lookup, customer history lookup, automated redundancy failover, automatic transaction recovery, automatic discounting, and transaction suspend and resume. ECRS will also demonstrate the mobile POS solution's ability to run in both a thin and redundant mode, working within and outside of Wi-Fi range, which allows for uninterrupted performance in demanding real world retail environments.

CATAPULT Mobile POS will join other ECRS Web 2.0 solutions on display at the NRF Expo including the recently introduced Executive Dashboard and CATAPULT Maintenance application, both of which are tablet ready.
