CLEVELAND, OH-April 3, 2009-The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ken Mayland, president of ClearView Economics, LLC, has been added to its Technical Conference keynote panel to discuss what small and middle-market manufacturers can do to survive the current economic plight. Held April 26-28 in Cleveland, OH, the conference is ideal for all levels of technical personnel and will address topics identified as key success factors for the metalforming industry-best practices, industry benchmarking, current technology and its applications, and future advancements.

On Sunday, April 26, Mayland will be part of the opening general assembly session presentation titled "Surviving Economic Hard Times, Positioning for Good Times." Mayland has spent more than 30 years studying the business cycle and providing economic analyses to a variety of constituencies. Joining Mayland on the panel will be David Darling, MB Tech, and moderator Michael Collins, MPC Management.

On April 27-28, more than 20 Technical Conference speakers will address topics related to surviving difficult economic times while preparing for more prosperous times. Topics include next-generation lubricants, tips for better die protection, justification of capital expenditures, and new strategies for the new century. The conference also will feature more than 20 table-top exhibits. In addition, attendees will learn about the latest innovations in the metalforming industry when the winners of PMA's 2009 Awards of Excellence in Metalforming are announced during a dinner reception on April 27.

In an effort to meet the metalforming industry's training needs during tough economic times, PMA has reduced its registration fees for the Technical Conference. PMA member companies can now register two employees for just $330, while two employees from nonmember companies can attend the conference for $410. These registration fees are valid until April 9.
