Eaton Introduces Single-Source Filtration Solutions for the Wine Industry at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium

Cleveland - Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced their participation at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium, January 30-31 in Sacramento, CA. Eaton will be presenting its extensive range of single-source wine filtration products from their well-known Begerow® Product Line. The key element will be the expanded range of filtration systems for various process steps in winemaking.

"Since acquiring Begerow last year, we have a growing number of requests from wineries for sustainable, economical, and efficient solutions," states Rick Jacobs, President of Eaton's Filtration business. "The 100% biodegradable BECOPAD depth filter sheets and BECODISC cartridges from our Begerow Product Line deliver on all counts. We are excited to present our capabilities at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium."

The mineral-free BECOPAD® depth filter medium offers impressive throughput, stability, and purity specifically for the needs of the wine industry. The high-purity cellulose material is cross-linked to form a unique structure that requires no mineral components for sterile filtration. This protects wine aroma and wine color. The BECOPAD depth filter media can be washed and sterilized repeatedly, guaranteeing economic efficiency. The BECOPAD® 350 to BECOPAD® 115C filter media types offers the best protection against Brettanomyces spp.

BECOPAD® depth filter media and BECO® depth filter sheets used in BECO COMPACT(TM) PLATE 400 plate and frame filter offer the winemaker ease of use, application flexibility and reliable cleanability.

BECODISC® stacked disc cartridges, used in the enclosed BECO INTEGRA® DISC stacked disc cartridge housings; combine the benefits of depth filter sheets with a sterile filtration environment. The stacked disc cartridges offer optimal protection of the membrane cartridge during the wine filling process. Thanks to their long service life, multiple filtrations can be carried out over longer periods, thereby improving economic efficiency and avoiding drip losses, perfect for steam sterilization.

BECO® prefilter cartridges and BECO® membrane cartridges used in the BECO INTEGRA® CART filter cartridge housing delivers a compact and sterile filtration environment. Bypass risk is virtually eliminated and steam and hot water sterilization is available.

Eaton rounds off the show with an opportunity for visitors to discuss their specific wine filtration concerns with Dr. Ilona Schneider, Ph.D. Dr. Schneider studied at the State Research Institute Giesenheim in Germany, earning a Master's of Enology degree and her PH.D. in Yeast Genetics and Microbiology. Since 2000, in addition to her role as Team Leader for Product Management and R&D Biotechnology for Eaton's Begerow product line, she has participated in international lectures speaking on topics such as modern wine technology, biotechnology, and filtration.

The exhibition team of Eaton's Filtration Business is looking forward to interesting technical discussions with show attendees. Please visit us at booth #2219.
