Manufacturing Experts Provide Keys to Success at EASTEC 2011 Resource Center Presentations

Topics include new social media strategies plus proven lean manufacturing and management ideas

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA - CNC Software, Inc., an EASTEC 2011 exhibitor that provides state-of-the-art software tools for CAD/CAM manufacturing markets, intends to let its resellers, customers, and prospects know about its plans for the event. While that may seem no different than what the 500-plus other exhibitors will do, the fact that CNC Software, Inc. will use social media to connect to its audience is different. "We post basically anything that is new," said Graham Hargreaves, marketing coordinator at CNC Software, Inc. "Social media has definitely lead to business. Every time we post something, there are orders within minutes."

That's why "Social Media for Manufacturers - Getting Started" is one of 21 Resource Center presentations offered at EASTEC 2011, the largest annual precision manufacturing event on the East Coast. Other presentations focus on proven strategies such as lean manufacturing, performance management, and increasing competitiveness through reduced costs. The free presentations run throughout the event and will give the expected 11,000 attendees the opportunity to learn about new ideas and processes to grow their businesses.

"Manufacturers are hungry for ideas on being more efficient and competitive, as well as reaching new markets," notes Kimberly Farrugia, senior show manager for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the sponsor of EASTEC 2011. "This year's event is packed with opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and network."

Farrugia also announced that this year's event features a new Emerging Technology Showcase - an interactive, hands-on opportunity for attendees to experience technologies designed to help attendees learn how to manufacture products for new markets. The showcase focuses on nanotechnology, additive manufacturing, and micromanufacturing.

EASTEC 2011 takes place May 17-19 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA. The event is centered on five exhibit categories: Design, Engineering, and Rapid Technologies; Tooling, Workholding, and Machining Accessories; Automation, Quality, and Process Improvement; Plant, Energy, and Environmental Efficiency; and Precision Manufacturing Equipment and Systems.
