ATLANTA and HARRISBURG, Pa., March 6 / -- eCU Technologies, an automated financial service technology provider for credit unions, recently announced that it is successfully using SecureWorks' managed security services to protect its IT networks and client information. SecureWorks, named by the Yankee Group as a "Market Leader" "among Pure Managed Security Service Providers (PMSSPs), provides managed security services to over 500 credit unions nationwide. SecureWorks is the largest Managed Security Services Provider to the financial industry protecting over 1,100 financial institutions as part of a total client base of 1,300 enterprises.

For the past seven months, SecureWorks has been providing eCU Technologies with network security that is managed 24x7x365 by experienced security analysts trained to recognize and stop Internet attacks. In addition to network intrusion prevention, eCU Technologies is using SecureWorks' host intrusion prevention, vulnerability assessment and firewall log monitoring services.

"The reputation that SecureWorks has developed within the credit union industry played a large part in our decision to choose them for our security needs," said Tim Snyder, senior network manager for eCU Technologies. "We also did a site visit and were very impressed with their security operations center."

"SecureWorks is very proud to count eCU Technologies among its clients," said Mike Cote, SecureWorks president and CEO. "eCU Technologies is a leading provider of financial services technology to the credit union industry and, as such, is entrusted to keep their clients' information highly secure. SecureWorks' security services are key in enabling them to achieve this, and we are delighted to have been chosen by eCU Technologies as their Managed Security Services Provider."

Snyder acknowledges that IT security, as a whole, is a major concern within the credit union industry. "We've taken such precautions because it's a serious issue, and we want to fully address it." In January, SecureWorks saw and blocked millions of attacks launched against its credit union clients, with the maximum number of attacks on any given day reaching 1,256,027.
