Dow Corning Pressure Sensitive Industry Announces New Global Director

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN, USA - Dow Corning Corporation has named Jean Francois Bailly as its global industry director for the company's Pressure Sensitive and Paper business. Based in Seneffe, Belgium, Bailly is a veteran of the industry, having served previously as Dow Corning's European industry director for Paper. The move was effective January 1.

The news was announced by Jeremy Burks, global industry executive director for Dow Corning's Paper and Process Industries. "Dow Corning is committed to providing proven industry expertise, and Jean Francois knows this industry very well," Burks observed. "He has extensive experience with key customers, and his knowledge and dedication have earned him respect over the years."

According to Bailly, "Our overall objective is to help customers achieve the best possible balance of performance, processing efficiency, cost, and regulatory compliance for their applications. This includes release coatings that deliver greater substrate, processing, and performance flexibility; record-breaking line speeds; and material cost savings. We're dedicated to the continued development of sustainable products that will outperform organic ingredients, such as silicone chemicals for pulp manufacturing, tissue treatment, and paper recycling."

For decades, Dow Corning has worked hand-in-hand with specialty chemical suppliers around the world to develop market-leading solutions for a wide variety of pressure sensitive, and pulp and paper applications. Bailly is expected to continue the progress made by his predecessor, Shelley Bausch, in implementing the low-platinum Advantage Series release coating line and establishing platinum price indexing. He will be expanding Dow Corning's activities in other segments. Bausch has accepted the leadership position of Xiameter executive director for Dow Corning.

In addition to his previous Paper Industry roles, Bailly was the global industry director for Performance Chemicals. He also held the post of country manager for Spain and Portugal, as well as a number of other positions in Belgium, France, Germany, and Spain. Bailly has a total of 21 years of Dow Corning experience.
