DEK and Assembleon team up to showcase product innovation

The San Jose Roadshow was held over November 1-3 and formed part of Assembleon's US-wide tour with its AX and MG machine lines. Successfully structured around a blend of presentation and demonstration, the event also showcased a range of DEK product innovations including VectorGuard(TM) stencil systems, ProFlow® enclosed print head technology, custom tooling options and cleaning wipes.

"The event proved to be a great opportunity for DEK to showcase compatible technologies alongside Assembleon's new product offerings," explains Lisa Carbin, DEK USA Business Manager for the Western Region. "The San Jose Roadshow symbolises DEK's belief in the value of strategic partnerships to optimise both industry integration and performance. By guiding Assembleon customers around the exhibits in small groups, we were able to address their specific concerns and wider manufacturing requirements in detail. We also gave these visitors a tour of the San Jose facility, during which they were able to appreciate the profound expertise that informs every level of DEK's product development."

In the main demonstration room, DEK showcased the Horizon 01i high accuracy mass imaging machine. With full process capability meeting Cpk 2.0 @ ±25 ìm, Horizon is able to offer comprehensive functionality for continuous high-throughput pre-placement. Consequently, the demonstration positioned Horizon 01i as the ideal complement to pick and place technologies, such as those offered by Assembleon. The DEK display also addressed the impact of the forthcoming transition to lead-free on today's manufacturers. DEK representatives were on hand to distribute literature and advice to visitors looking to meet the 2006 deadline.

The Roadshow attracted a wide range of customers from across the electronics industry, with attendance levels surpassing initial expectations. Targeted at building awareness of both Assembleon and DEK's product range, the event proved to be an effective forum for key decision makers to investigate SMT placement machines, and the technologies designed to advance pick and place performance.
