Daniel Edelman Receives ASTM International Boedecker Award for Contributions to Iron and Steel Standards



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., —Daniel Edelman, UCS development metallurgist at Nucor Corp., Crawfordsville, Ind., has received the Kenneth J. Boedecker Jr. Distinguished Service Award for his exemplary contributions to ASTM International Committee A05 on Metallic-Coated Iron and Steel Products.



A member at large on the executive A05 subcommittee, Edelman also serves on Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys and is chairman of Subcommittee A01.19 on Steel Sheet and Strip. Committee A01 recognized his contributions with an Award of Appreciation in 2008. He has been a member of ASTM International since 2001.



A graduate of Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Mich., where he received a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, Edelman joined Nucor in 1999 and accepted his current role in 2008. He specializes in the development of sheet steel products and is a member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology in addition to ASTM International.
