Dale F. Bohn to Serve Term on the ASTM International Board of Directors



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-Dale F. Bohn, quality manager for Flint Hills Resources LP, an independent refining and chemicals company in St. Paul, Minn., has been elected to the ASTM International board of directors for a three-year term.

Bohn has been involved with the work of Committee D04 on Road and Paving Materials since he joined ASTM International in 1996. He serves on several D04 technical subcommittees and has been chairman of Subcommittee D04.41 on Emulsified Asphalt Specifications, and most recently, Subcommittee D04.42 on Emulsified Asphalt Tests. For his contributions to the committee, D04 honored him with a Distinguished Service Award in 2003 and an Award of Appreciation in 2009. Bohn also serves on Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants, and is the current chairman of the Committee on Technical Committee Operations (COTCO). COTCO presented him with Service Awards in 2008 and 2011.

After graduating in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, with a B.S. in chemistry, Bohn became an asphalt chemist/technical leader for Koch Materials Co. focusing on asphaltic products, including product development, formulation and testing; process design and support; job site assistance; and internal and external training. He became asphalt chemist/technical leader at Flint Hills Resources in 2005, northern region quality manager in 2008. In this position, he has responsibility for product development, formulations, testing and FHR quality manager in 2011.
