Crestron Demonstrates Five-Star Hospitality Technology at HITEC®

Crestron provides efficiency and luxury with technology solutions for every space within hotels

Crestron will be checking into the HITEC® 2013 conference with an array of innovative hardware and software solutions, enabling hotels to manage and monitor systems more efficiently, while also driving guest comfort to higher levels. At the Crestron booth, attendees will experience interactive demonstrations of Crestron technology in simulated hotel lobby, ballroom, conference room, restaurant, and guest room environments.

"Crestron has been an industry leader in lighting, AV, and environmental controls for residential and commercial buildings for decades," says Mike Stegmann, Crestron Director of Hospitality. "This expertise has been specifically refined to serve the hospitality industry where the commercial (lobby, hallways, and back of house) and residential (guest rooms) need to work together in a seamless way. Crestron has all of the pieces to manage the entire hotel property."

Attendees will experience high technology and key hospitality partnerships at the Crestron booth. Here are some of the highlights:

Luxury Guest Room Solutions
One of the biggest advances that Crestron brings to the hotel industry is automation of its guest rooms. The Crestron system goes to work as soon as the guest checks in, automatically setting temperature and lighting levels to comfortable, welcoming levels. Once in the room, the guest has full control over lights, shades, climate, TV, mini bar, as well as access to the concierge and other services, from an easy to use Crestron handheld remote.

Integrated Partners
The Crestron Integrated Partner program brings customers the best collection of products, vendors, and services to reduce the cost, complexity and time to deliver a world-class hospitality solution. Crestron will be demonstrating the seamless integration of its new control app with the popular line of Samsung® Smart TV's. The app will allow guests to adjust room shades, lighting, or temperature from an onscreen display without interrupting the TV/movie viewing experience. Lighting scenes can also be selected to provide the optimal conditions based on the guest's preferences.

Property Management Remote Monitoring
Crestron partners with leading hospitality vendors, including property management systems and concierge services, including Condeco® and WiSuite™ to provide a simple and seamless integrated solution. Crestron Fusion™ Enterprise Management Software adds intelligence to transform an integrated building into a smart building. Using Crestron Fusion, hotel management can monitor and control AV, lighting, and environmental systems, manage sustainable energy sources, and schedule rooms and resources on the network. The software collects, displays and reports real-time information and historical trends so clients can make data-driven decisions about purchasing, scheduling, staffing and workspace design.

For example, when an in-room thermostat isn't working properly, hotel management receives an alert from the system describing the issue and location. Management can respond to and resolve the issue without the guest ever knowing there was a problem. "The benefit to the property is they will have one system to manage, support and maintain, leading to improved uptime, reduced long-term maintenance costs, and an enhanced experience for guests," adds Stegmann.

Leading global hotel chains, including MGM Resorts International, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, InterContinental Hotels Group, Four Seasons, and Starwood Properties are on board, installing Crestron solutions to enhance the guest experience and increase efficiency and productivity.

Shading Solutions
Crestron motorized shading solutions are the quietest on the market and the perfect choice for guest rooms, public spaces, and bars/restaurants. This complements the entire light management solution provided by Crestron automation - simply and elegantly. At the touch of a button, lights can dim and shades and drapes open or close to provide comfort, change the mood, or simply enjoy the view. With sensors, shades can be automated based on natural light levels or time of day.

Distributed Media & Digital Signage Solutions
Outside of the guest rooms, Crestron enables complete AV distribution, streaming and wireless technology on a single networked platform to provide digital signage and digital content to hotel lobbies, bars, restaurants, conference centers, and other common spaces. The content displayed throughout the hotel includes scheduled meetings, times, and locations, local weather and traffic, and restaurant locations, hours, and menus. In bars and restaurants, Crestron DigitalMedia™ distributes entertainment to displays throughout the venues so patrons can enjoy sports, music videos, or concerts while dining or dancing.

User Interfaces
Control of the hotel property and guest room is available at the touch of a button with uniquely designed Crestron touch screens, keypads, dimmers, and mobile app for Apple® and Android™ devices. User interfaces for hotel management and guests will be on display throughout the booth.

The complete line of Cameo® wireless dimmers, switches and keypads are perfect for new and retrofit applications, substantially reducing wiring and related labor costs of traditional wired systems, and producing incredibly clean installations.
New to the Crestron line is the unique, compact and simple in design, HTT-B2EX. The HTT-B2EX is a battery-powered 2-Button Wireless Keypad, ideal for use as a hotel bedside controller, a conference room presenter selector or a simple lighting/shade controller that easily connects to a Crestron control system. The HTT-B2EX is powered by a lithium coin cell battery that boasts high performance and a long battery life.
