Coveris Presents Innovative Meat Packaging Solutions at IFFA 2016
Coveris, the world’s sixth largest plastic packaging solutions provider, will present its wide range of flexible and rigid packaging offerings for meat at this year’s IFFA.
Next to solutions for assorted meat and dried foods, the Company will showcase products for meat and poultry derivatives, delicatessen products, offal, giblets and ready meals.
This year’s fair stand will display both established and new product ranges, including shrink films, trays, labels, ovenable packs and DuoSmart® as well as ReadyFresh® solutions, but also one of Coveris’ latest packaging innovations: The Reclose versus Mono PET.
The Reclose versus Mono PET combines a resealable (barrier) lid film on a PET bottom foil and facilitates not only overall handling, but also prolongs the overall product freshness. This particular packaging solution is at least ten times resealable and at the same time highly sustainable as the top and bottom foil are both recyclable. Since all functionality lies within the top film, while the bottom film consists of PET with no additional lamination needed, manufacturing is both easy and cost-effective.
The Rigid Division will showcase its broad meat tray range consisting of regular and lightweight PP and PET/PE trays with optional multi-compartments, absorption pads and high quality lamination decoration. Thanks to their features the trays allow for appealing product display and stand for longstanding durability and impact resistance. The new ovenable tray range is even suitable for hot meat meals preparation. In addition, thanks to the PP/EVOH/PP high barrier films used, the trays support extended shelf life and safe product presentation which is particularly important for products such as meat. Another solution presented at the fair will be DuoSmart®, which combines the best of paper and plastic in one cup. The DuoSmart® containers protect their content, particularly the nutritional value, natural colours as well as taste. The removable cardboard wrap provides space on the in- and outside which can be used for numerous designs, product information and promotional messages. With a flat, dome or sealable-peelable-reclosable lid – the DuoSmart® cup is the ideal solution for take-away meat snacks.
So is latest packaging solution of the Rigid Division – ReadyFresh™ which is a new exciting and comprehensive tray range from Coveris, allowing for both Home Meal Replacement (HMR) and food on-the-go services, being perfect for hot or cold meat.
The Americas Food Consumer Division will display a wide-range of flexible packaging solutions for fresh and processed meats including bone-in and boneless vacuum shrink bags and films, poultry bags and forming/non-forming films.
