OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug 25, 2010 - If you could make a mobile phone and an NFL stadium scoreboard talk to each other, what would you do with them? (Read on for one company's eye-opening answer.) Entrepreneurial companies are beginning to consider a flood of questions like this, and coming up with a growing stream of innovative, money-making ideas in response. Now Sprint (NYSE:S) is helping to quickly turn their best ideas into up-and-running competitive business operations through its newly launched online resource, www.sprint.com/m2m.

Designed for companies of all sizes, www.sprint.com/m2m offers in-depth guidance on the tools and processes businesses need to implement their ideas for device connectivity using emerging wireless and wireline solutions. The site also covers Sprint's unique qualifications to assist companies with its solutions expertise and the company's diverse networks backed by innovative Service Level Agreements (SLA), including Sprint's Global IP network, highly dependable 3G network and the only ultra-fast 4G capability from a national wireless carrier.

A big part of this expanding world of device-to-device connectivity is known as M2M (machine-to-machine) - which is all about taking wireless beyond the mobile phone to interconnect a rapidly proliferating variety of other electronic devices. These include laptops, signboards, cameras, appliances, remote sensors, utility meters and a host of other devices. M2M solutions are a source of opportunity for businesses with new ideas for connecting people, devices and systems in ways that make work more productive and lifestyles more interesting.

Take, for example, the mobile phone and the NFL stadium mentioned above. In partnership with Sprint, Internet Connectivity Group, Inc. (I.C.G.) brings a whole new experience to fans at Washington Redskins Fed Ex Field. They've made it possible for fan tweets, photos and fantasy football stats to be displayed in real time on digital displays throughout the FedEx Field Club Level, using I.C.G.'s ICtweedia(TM) interactive application.

That's one successful idea. Companies with their own connected device ideas will discover many valuable features and tools on www.sprint.com/m2m including:

An introduction to Sprint's differentiated solutions capabilities - including Sprint's multiple network assets, open architecture, technical support and extensive partner ecosystem.

Special news updates on M2M developments - including Sprint product, service and partner announcements, along with key industry events related to M2M.

"M2M is developing very rapidly as a market opportunity for businesses, and Sprint is making it easier to get acquainted with its potential through our new online resource," said Danny Bowman, president-Sprint Integrated Solutions Group. "We invite small, medium and large businesses to discover how M2M can be a springboard for innovative products and services. The site shows how M2M business plans can be conceived, developed and implemented on an accelerated schedule, including easy, straightforward ways to engage Sprint as a trusted partner."

With the launch of its Emerging Solutions Group in October 2009, Sprint established an industry standard for M2M services, featuring Sprint's unique combination of 3G and 4G capabilities, more than 10 years experience in providing connectivity for non-Sprint-branded devices, and an open and expanding ecosystem of M2M partners, including device manufacturers, aggregators and OEMs.

Sprint has added numerous M2M partners and customers in 2010. In March, Sprint announced partnerships with Axeda, Lenovo, Walsh Wireless and Top Global. Those companies joined such high-profile Sprint partners as Drive.Cam, Ford Motor Company (Ford Work Solutions), M2M DataSmart, Numerex, and XATA. And in a June announcement, the company cited several customers for their innovative M2M solutions, including the Alzheimer's Association, Amtrak, Continental Airlines, Dominican Hospital, RedBull and 504 Restaurant, Washington Redskins Fed Ex Field, and the 2010 Maloof Money Cup.

"Sprint's open approach to M2M solutions is embodied in our networks and our readiness to partner with customers across a wide range of needs, including billing, branding, distribution and customer care. We designed our M2M website so customers and developers can see for themselves the variety of options available, along with the collaborative support Sprint provides in building customized solutions," said Wayne Ward, vice president-Sprint Emerging Solutions Group. "Visitors to the site will also find a wealth of case studies describing how companies have successfully engaged with Sprint to produce M2M business models in both retail and wholesale."

Sprint was recently ranked a top-100 company by M2M Magazine (recently re-branded Connected World Magazine). Sprint also received the highest ranking among telecom providers, and the No. 3 ranking among all industry sectors, on the Everything Channel's VAR500 list of North America's top technology integrators for 2010. Earlier this year, Sprint received top honors in a survey by Yankee Group and Mobile Enterprise Magazine for best overall wireless voice and data satisfaction among enterprise customers.
