Constar Adds Two Regional Account Managers

PHILADELPHIA, October 29, 2010 - - Constar has announced that David Batten and Doreen McCarthy have joined the sales team as regional account managers reporting to David Schroeder, senior vice-president, Sales and Marketing.
Batten comes to the organization with a proven track record in the rigid container industry in both technical and commercial roles. Batten spent ten years at Sidel with prior experience at Pet-Pak Containers, Husky Injection Molding Systems and MAG-Plastic Incorporated. He will be responsible for managing accounts in the Southeast region.
McCarthy joins Constar from the Miller Coors Beer Company where she was a national account sales manager serving companies such as Chili's, TGI Friday's, Dave & Busters, Bennigan's, and Club Corp. Prior to that, she held a variety of sales and operations roles at Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola. McCarthy will cover accounts in the Mid-South region.
McCarthy and Batten will be responsible for managing existing Constar customer relationships and developing new stock and custom container business for the food, beverage, personal care, and household good segments. Both will be tasked to develop new sales as Constar expands its stock bottle and jar offerings. New container development will further leverage Constar's expertise in hot-fill geometry including X4(TM), an innovative panel-free design for hot-fill beverages that imparts the robust, in-hand feel of glass, while optimizing performance during the filling and labeling processes. Their charter also includes sourcing new commercial applications for DiamondClear®, an aggressive oxygen scavenger blended into PET, which offers glass-like clarity while protecting product freshness, flavor and color.
