COMSOL Multiphysics Once Again Voted 'Product of the Year' by NASA Tech Briefs Magazine

BURLINGTON, MA (April 25, 2006)- COMSOL Inc. is pleased to announce that its flagship product, COMSOL Multiphysics®, along with three add-on modules for heat transfer, earth science, and MEMS, have collectively been voted Product of the Year by the readers of NASA Tech Briefs magazine. The award was presented to COMSOL's CEO, Svante Littmarck, at an awards ceremony in New York City in early April.

"We are delighted that the readers of this influential trade journal have once again recognized our products by honoring us with this award," says Littmarck. "We greatly appreciate this vote of confidence on the part of America's scientists, engineers, and researchers."

COMSOL Multiphysics is a scientific-software environment for the modeling and simulation of any physics-based system.

A particular strength is its ability to account for multiphysics phenomena. Optional modules add discipline-specific tools for chemical engineering, earth science, electromagnetics, heat transfer, MEMS and structural mechanics.

In January 2005, NASA Tech Briefs' editors selected COMSOL Multiphysics 3.1, then named FEMLAB 3.1, as the product of the month, thus making the product a finalist in the Product of the Year competition. In January 2006, the magazine's readers voted among those monthly winners to choose their favorite product for the entire year. Notes the magazine's Editor in Chief/Associate Publisher, Linda Bell, "The winners of the 2005 Product of the Year Awards represent the most significant new products introduced to the engineering community as chosen by the readers of NASA Tech Briefs."
