ComNet Expands, Adds VP of Engineering
ComNet(TM) adds experience, Robert Gallagher appointed as Vice President of Engineering
Danbury, CT. June 15, 2008, Communication Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, doing business as ComNet(TM), a leading manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, has hired Robert Gallagher to be the company's Vice President of Engineering. Robert will be responsible for company's new product development and engineering. Robert will report directly to George Lichtblau, ComNet's chairman. Gallagher held the role of Director of Engineering at IFS and GE/IFS for the past 5 years before IFS was integrated into GE Security and has over 25 years of electrical engineering and department management experience.
Rob Gallagher will be responsible for managing all the day-to-day activities of the ComNet engineering department including product development and expansion of the engineering department. Rob will be tasked with continuing the initial development and expansion of the point-to-point fiber line. ComNet is also developing a line of hardened Ethernet products and Rob and his team are focused on all the responsibilities required to make that a reality.
"Rob has a wonderful understanding of how Ethernet is being adopted into the Security and ITS markets," stated Lichtblau. "I'll rely heavily on him to develop an Ethernet line that's miles ahead of what's out there" Lichtblau continued.

ComNet has recently announced an extensive line of fiber optic video and data transmission equipment as well as a line of Ethernet Network equipment that is uniquely toughened to meet the needs of the Security and Intelligent Transportation System market.
