ColorGATE Innovations at FESPA 2015

From May 18th to 22nd 2015, ColorGATE will be presenting its latest solutions portfolio for Commercial and Industrial Printing at FESPA 2015 in Cologne (hall 6, stand S96). Main focus is put on the new Industrial Productionserver products dedicated to textile, décor and ceramics printing as well as an ultra-fast color measurement device dedicated but not limited to industrial printing applications. ColorGATE is extending its leading position as solution provider of Color Management and printing software solutions for digital commercial and industrial printing.
For the Commercial Printing sector, ColorGATE will be presenting the entire Version 9 RIP Software family, starting with Productionserver, to Filmgate, Plategate and Proofgate. The core emphasis lays on Productionserver, with its unrivaled strengths in Color Management, optimal color rendition and anytime reproduction consistency for applications both in Commercial- and Industrial Printing.
Productionserver 9 is the flexible RIP Software designed to meet individual requirements and demands for highest quality and provides access to implement highly efficient, digital print proofing workflows by its modular and flexible design. Excellent Color Management for optimal color reproduction with neutral grey tones, natural skin tones and brilliant colors are based on the unique recalibration technique: Media Device Synchronization (MDS). Furthermore, Productionserver is capable of standard compliant production according to international standards, such as ISO 12647, G7 and ProcessStandard Digital (PSD).
Filmgate 9 and the corresponding film media products: CG Reprofilm HD and CG Screenfilm will be shown at FESPA 2015 too. Filmgate 9 is the worldwide leading RIP Software for chemical-free film production via inkjet printers for flexo-, offset- and screen printing in high-end quality and stands out especially by the unique and innovative screening technologies.
Value Pack and Step-ups Value Pack
Due to great demand ColorGATE prolonged its Step-ups Value Pack promotion until June 30th 2015. End users of all legacy versions will be able to benefit from this promotion by stepping up to the successful Value Pack program at an attractive rate.
All end users can also secure a free remote installation (reg. fee required service) for their upgrade to Version 9. A Step-up Value Pack includes always all updates and upgrades within your respective Value Pack contract term. The installation of the upgrade to Version 9 will be guided and attended by a ColorGATE Expert via remote session.

Industrial Productionserver line-up
ColorGATE launches a line-up of new Workflow, RIP and Color Management solutions, which have been developed specifically for the use in digital industrial printing applications. These products are based on the proven Productionserver architecture and are optimized to the respective requirements of the area of application.
"We are planning to continue the ongoing development and evolution of the Productionserver series, which has started 18 years ago, with a larger focus on the requirements of Industrial Printing. All products offer comprehensive functions for all workflow stages starting from the design import to prototyping over to the initial production as well as to reprint requirements, right up to the finishing process", states Thomas Kirschner, CEO and founder of ColorGATE.
The main goal of the conception and development of the respective product editions was to consider the specific challenges of the applications and close cooperation with end users and experts of each field. The new Industrial Productionserver Editions are notably beneficial for producers who already facilitate conventional printing techniques such as flexo, gravure, offset-, pad- or screen printing, because ColorGATE offers convenient workflows to transfer and deploy frictionless existing printing data into the new digital print production stream via inkjet.
Textile Productionserver
ColorGATE´s new workflow, RIP and Color Management solution for digital textile print production. The target customers are producers and manufacturers from sectors Apparel, Home Textiles/ Interior Textiles and Technical/Functional Textiles with highest demands in color accuracy and consistency of their products.
The offering contains a new colorization and repeat pattern creation software as well as all necessary functions for the profiling of textile printing systems with up to 8 different color channels. Via the aNy Color Profiler 3+4 ch and 3-8 ch Modules (NPFM4, NPFM8) ICC profiling of any color set above and beyond the standard process colors, such as CMYK is possible. These profilers were developed for the décor, textile and ceramic printing areas of application. For the optimum support of the entire color management workflow, automatic preview profiles are also generated in addition to the output profiles that can be used as working color space and soft-proof profiles in all design applications, even if these do not support n-Color in the first place.
The Target Generator, a feature of the Profiler Module (PFM), creates all required profiler targets automatically on-the-fly, which are fully customizable in terms of the number and size of color patches as well as page size and number. Automatically the device specific layout requirements are honored and required garnishes are added.
ColorGATE currently offers printer drivers for textile printing systems of the following vendors and manufacturers: d.gen, Epson, Keundo Technology, Mimaki, MS Printing Solutions, Mutoh, Reggiani Macchine, Roland, Rodin Textil, Shenzen Textalk Graphic Technology and plans to extend the offering of supported textile devices.
Décor Productionserver
Décor Productionserver has been developed specifically for the decoration and finishing process of industrial manufactured wood products. This software unites the experience and developments of the last 18 years from the areas of Color Management and the comprehensive control of printing systems in order to provide all functions which are required in industrial décor reproduction and digital décor printing, e.g. for finishing of wood-based panels, laminates and décor papers.
With Décor Productionserver ColorGATE presents a bridge between the new versatility of digital decoration and the established conventional print processes. Due to a wide range of supported file formats, correct processing of complete design files, e.g. from Photoshop or utilizing pre separated and screened input files is possible.
Ceramic Productionserver
Ceramic Productionserver is a comprehensive workflow and Color Management solution for digital ceramics printing for maximum process efficiency right from the design up to the finished end product: wall and floor tiles. This solution is targeting tile producers with one or more production lines and digital ceramic printing systems of arbitrary manufacturers. All necessary functions for the ceramics printing process are supported by the software in a very user friendly way. Moreover, even comprehensive tasks such as the ceramic calibration are conducted via assistant-guided wizards, in order to allow even non-experts to produce optimal production results in a minimum of time.
Ceramic Productionserver functions as a central print data management system that processes all common data files, including multichannel TIFF and PSD, PSB (Adobe Photoshop) files, and transforms them into device specific separations for all ceramics printers with 3 to 8 colors. Multichannel ICC profiles can be generated for the ceramic calibration with a free choice of non-process primary colors of 3 an up to 8 channels. Furthermore, profiling of colored base masses and glazes is possible, in order to use a minimum, which means the optimal, amount of ink is applied especially for dark colored tile designs. Ceramics Productionserver incorporates a special adaptation of the well-established ColorGATE Ink Saver technology, which provides average ink savings for common ceramics color combinations of up to 15%. As a consequence fast return on investment for the whole Ceramics Productionserver solution can be gained in just a few weeks and steady cost savings are provided after this through efficient ink usage.
In the process of design creation, Ceramic Productionserver ends "blind flight" while creating multichannel designs, caused by the lack of most image editing applications to display multichannel files correctly. Ceramic Productionserver now closes this gap for good by providing a color correct multichannel in order to provide the possibility to survey, to match and to mask the designs, while only using the monitor. Ceramics Productionserver provides therefore a multichannel preview with basic image editing tools. In addition automatically generated preview profiles for Adobe Photoshop, for color correct image retouching and masking are provided.
Rapid Spectro Cube (RSC)
With Rapid Spectro Cube ColorGATE presents an ultra-fast color measurement device for profiling purposes in industrial applications and environments. RSC is able to process substrates in a size starting at just a few centimeters or few inches of up to 700 x700 mm / 27.5 x 27.5 inches and thickness of up to 5 cm. A revolution presents its capability to measure color patches of just 1mm x 1mm.
On an average smartphone case RSC can acquire 6000 color patches within seconds. Rapid Spectro Cube supports the standard light conditions D50 and D65. The Profiler Module (PFM), e.g. for Productionserver, supports RSC natively for a fast import of measured data and profile creation. In batch mode up to 20 profiles can be created per hour.
SmartControl IP OS
Additionally, ColorGATE shows SmartControl, the Industrial Printing operating system (IP OS) the control center of digital industrial printing systems, at FESPA 2015. The control of all the components, starting with the print heads, to the controllers, and right on up to the transport systems, is intelligent and easy with the SmartControl IP OS.
