City of San Francisco Reaches Out to Connekt, LLC to Run a Finite Element Analysis on the Straps for the New Traffic Lights on Van Ness

The complete overhaul of the intersection of Market Street and (South) Van Ness Avenue, the proposed framework for which includes a major widening of the sidewalks and more street trees initiated all new larger traffic lights all along Van Ness Avenue. Connekt, LLC was hired to run ANSYS FEA analysis to ensure the straps the secure the 80 lb. traffic lights were strong enough. After initial FEA analysis it was determined that the straps would fail. Connekt recommended a new design and more robust material and concluded with a successful FEA report for the city. "Connekt played a instrumental role in the redesign of the straps we are now using on the new larger poles for the traffic lights. We could have not done it without them." Greg Hulcher
