Christopher A. Hetro PE Serves University Advisory Council

WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania – Christopher A. Hetro PE of Borton- Lawson was selected to serve on the Pennsylvania State University’s Electrical Engineering Alumni Mentorship Advisory Council.

Pennsylvania State University’s College of Electrical Engineering and Mechanics (ESM) and the ESM Alumni Society (PSESMS) jointly sponsor the ESM Mentoring Program to facilitate the professional development of ESM students, by providing students with guidance, counsel and networking opportunities.

The program offers students the opportunity to explore various engineering positions, and provides information to ensure that they are choosing a specialization appropriate to their interests. Students and alumni mentors are matched based on their background and interests, and interact on a one-to-one basis to assist the student with their academic and professional development.

This program is supported by the newly established Alumni Mentorship Advisory Council (AMA), which helps pair students and mentors, establishes procedures and protocols for the program and helps craft social media and outreach strategy. Christopher serves on the AMA to assist with the governance of the Electrical Engineering arm of this University-lead program.

Christopher earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and holds a Masters of Business Association from Lehigh University. He began his career at FLSmidth as a Project Manager, and is now with Borton-Lawson, where he serves as an Electrical Engineer in the Oil and Gas (OG) Facilities Business Unit.

Christopher has more than nine (9) years of experience in the A/E industry, and is a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania, California, Colorado and Oregon.
