Chart Industries Board Nominates Two New Directors


CLEVELAND, Feb. 7, 2008 -- Chart Industries, Inc.
(Nasdaq:GTLS), a leading independent global manufacturer of highly engineered equipment used in the production, storage and end-use of hydrocarbon and industrial gases, today announced that W. Douglas Brown and Thomas L. Williams have been nominated to stand for election to its Board of Directors. The election will take place at the Company's annual shareholders' meeting to be held on May 20, 2008.

Mr. Brown, age 61, retired in 2007 from the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
(NYSE:APD), a $9 billion global supplier of industrial gases, performance materials and equipment and services. Mr. Brown was appointed to that position in 1999. He began his distinguished 32-year career with Air Products as an attorney and held General Counsel and administrative positions at four different Air Products affiliates prior to 1999.

Mr. Williams, age 49, is currently Senior Vice President & Operating Officer of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE:PH). He joined Parker Hannifin in 2003 as Vice President Operations - Hydraulics Group and in
2005 became President - Instrumentation Group. Mr. Williams is also a 22-year veteran of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), having held various executive operating positions for four different business
groups: GE Capital, Aircraft Engines, Lighting, and Locomotives.

Mr. Brown received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of Lafayette College and also is a member of the Board of Trustees of DeSales University.

Mr. Williams received a Masters of Business Administration degree from Xavier University. He is an engineering graduate of Bucknell University.

The Chart Industries Board currently consists of four independent directors plus Board Chairman Thomas. Messrs. Brown and Williams would fill two vacancies and add two additional independent directors to the Board. The Company's annual shareholders' meeting will be held at the offices of Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, in The Woodlands, Texas.
