Edward Ginzel Receives ASTM International Charles W. Briggs Award



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., 30 June 2009-Consultant Edward Ginzel of the Materials Research Institute, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has received the Charles W. Briggs Award from ASTM International.

A member of ASTM International since 1996, Ginzel was honored for his outstanding contributions to the work of ASTM Committee E07 on Nondestructive Testing. He has been active in promoting advanced ultrasonic methods and continues to work with agencies developing personnel certification programs for the advanced methods.

In addition to ASTM International, Ginzel has been a member of the Canadian General Standards Board Committee on NDT Personnel Certification since 1985. He holds bachelor's degrees in geology and physics, both from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
