"During more than eight years in which I have served the Micronas Group as Board Chairman, the company has become one of the market leaders for complex semiconductor systems in its core business areas. It is a fitting moment for me to bow out and make way for fresh blood," commented Franz Betschon on his retirement.

During Dr. Betschon's time as Chairman, the Micronas Group, which is listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange, has more than trebled its consolidated net sales from CHF 280 million in 1998. Today, Micronas is a leading independent supplier of innovative application-specific semiconductor solutions for consumer and automotive electronics.
