Improve Industry Knowledge by Earning EMS Program Manager Certification
Next IPC EMS Program Manager Certification to be Held at IPC Midwest Show
BANNOCKBURN, Ill, USA, July 27, 2009 - IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® has announced the EMS Program Manager Training and Certification Program dates for 2010. Individuals who would like to become certified in 2010 can get a jump on the process at the next training program, September 21-22, 2009 at IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition.
The IPC EMS Program Manager and Certification Program is a four part course specifically tailored for EMS program managers covering critical topics including operations, finance, contract and time management, as well as essential leadership skills. All of the instructors have real-world EMS experience and apply their knowledge to classroom exercises. There is also a self-study/online tutorial which provides students with background information in basic business areas, such as customer relations, legal issues, accounting, supply chain management and more.
"I've applied what I've learned in my certification class to my daily tasks," said Betty Beaudry, a program manager with General Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of Crane Aerospace & Electronics. Since earning certification in November 2008, Beaudry has become more adept at justifying the cost of materials with customers and has improved her ability to negotiate pricing.
"Becoming a certified EMS program manager (CEPM) can round out a program manager's expertise and teach necessary skills to help to save the company time and money. Earning certification can also be a powerful tool for winning clients," said Susan Filz, IPC industry programs director. "Program management means something different in virtually every company. But having a well-rounded knowledge of the industry can help program managers provide more value to their companies and their customers."
The first session, IPC EMS Program Certification - Introduction to the EMS Industry and Program Management, will be offered September, 21-22, 2009 during the IPC Midwest Conference & Exhibition in Schaumburg, IL. EMS Training II and IPC EMS Leadership Training and Program Manager Certification Exam will also be held in conjunction with the show later that week.
The newly released 2010 training dates are:
o Introduction to EMS Training and Program Management: January 15-16, San Diego; April 6-7, Las Vegas; September 27-28, Schaumburg, Ill.; December 3-4, Tampa;
o EMS Training II: January 22-23, San Diego; April 9-10, Las Vegas; September 29-30, Schaumburg, Ill.; December 3-4, Tampa;
o EMS Leadership Training and Certification Exam: January 28-30, San Diego; April 8-10, Las Vegas; September 28-30, Schaumburg, Ill.; December 2-4, Tampa; and
o Certification Exam Only: January 30, San Diego; April 10, Las Vegas; September 30, Schaumburg, Ill.; and December 4, Tampa.
