Canon imageRunner MFPs Receive Cerner Certification

Certification Demonstrates Canon's Commitment to Leadership and Customer Choice in the Healthcare Industry

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., August 29, 2007 - Canon U.S.A., Inc, the market share leader of digital office equipment*, announced today that eight of its award-winning imageRUNNER digital multifunctional devices have achieved compatibility certification for use in Cerner software environments, the leading U.S. supplier of healthcare information technology solutions.

The newly certified models include the imageRUNNER 3025, imageRUNNER 3030, imageRUNNER 3035, imageRUNNER 3045, imageRUNNER 2270, imageRUNNER 2870, imageRUNNER 3570, and imageRUNNER 4570. With this certification, Canon imageRUNNER MFPs are authorized for use in both Cerner's Millennium and HNA Classic environments - platforms which allow healthcare professionals to run tests, make diagnoses, place orders, fill medications, document care or remit bills using a single information system.

"We are pleased to be able to provide Cerner Certified products to our customers," said Dennis Amorosano, director and general manager, Solutions Business Development Division, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "This certification demonstrates Canon's continued commitment to the healthcare market and providing healthcare businesses with the best document imaging solutions. Canon will continue to bring Cerner Certification to additional Canon products in order to support our customers."

To achieve Cerner Certified status, products must undergo a rigorous evaluation process that tests the compatibility and dependability of peripheral devices with the Cerner Millennium platform. After passing an initial screening, products are rigorously tested by engineers in the Cerner Technology Certification Lab against a Cerner software application environment. Canon's certified devices will be added to the official "Cerner Peripheral List" as of August 6, 2007. They will also be included in Cerner's certified peripheral guide, a catalog used by Cerner to aid its clients in selecting certified printing devices. Canon's certification is global, providing customers anywhere in the world the ability to choose certified Canon devices with confidence.
