The Air & Waste Management Association Calls for Abstracts on Thermal Treatment Technologies

Pittsburgh, PA - The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) has issued a call for abstracts for the 2011 International Conference on Thermal Treatment Technologies & Hazardous Waste Combustors (IT3/HWC). The event takes place May 10 through 13, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL.

"The international thermal treatment industry and other industries using thermal technology to manage their waste streams are facing many changes in the coming years related to policy and regulation," said Mike Kelly, A&WMA Executive Director. "This conference provides those working with and researching thermal treatment technologies an opportunity to share their insights and discoveries with others on a global scale."

Conference organizers are now calling for abstracts that:
  • address approaches to safely managing waste streams amenable to thermal treatment processes, and evaluate associated costs, risks and impacts
  • provide practical applications of technical and scientific advances in thermal treatment technologies for the management of a broad range of institutional and industrial wastes
  • focus on waste to energy applications and the impact of thermal treatment technologies on greenhouse gas inventories and climate change, including how these impacts affect public perception and developing governmental policies

Abstract submissions are due by Friday, Oct. 29. For more information or to submit an abstract visit www.awma.org/IT32011.
