Cabinet NG Announces 2010 Collaborate Conference Keynote

Former Weatherman to Discuss What Technology Can Do For Your Company

Huntsville, AL - August 31, 2010 - Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of document management and document management workflow software, today announced that Robert O. Baron, former weather forecaster and founder of Baron Services, will be the keynote speaker for its annual Collaborate Conference, October 21-22, at the Westin Huntsville in Alabama. Baron will address the benefits of applying technology to your business in a presentation titled, "What Technology Can Do For Your Company" and plans to speak about how technology can help businesses move beyond their existing boundaries.

"I am very excited to be this year's keynote at CNG's annual conference," said Baron. "One of the ways to improve your business is by implementing the right technologies. It's important to figure out first what your business needs are and then research, or in some cases create technologies that will help you achieve exceptional results for your company."

Baron has over 22 years experience in broadcast meteorology. Prior to starting Baron Services in 1990, he spent 18 years as a TV weatherman in Huntsville. Baron began his business developing weather forecasting capabilities after witnessing a tornado in 1989 in Huntsville, which devastated the unsuspecting city, killing at least 21 and causing more than $100 million in damage. "It was a seminal moment where I thought we were prepared, but what we had were pretty pictures, not actual tools," said Baron. "People found out about the tornado from a policeman on a two-way radio. There was a need to create a product or service that would provide accurate data that people could depend on." The corresponding increase in severe weather information, he believed, could result in earlier warning times and fewer lives lost during severe weather outbreaks. Since that time Baron Services has expanded to a group of five companies, many unique products and over 25 patents.

Baron received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee. He has been a long-standing member of the American Meteorological Society and in 1982 received the American Meteorological Society seal of approval for television. In 1996, he was recognized by his peers as small business executive of the year, and in 2004 he was a finalist in Inc. Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year awards. Baron was honored by the National Weather Association with a Special Achievement Award in November 2006. In 2007, the business community acknowledged him again, naming him Entrepreneur of the Year, and then in 2008, Baron received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Most recently, Mr. Baron was named Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. A highly prestigious designation only two-tenths of one percent of AMS members is approved as Fellows each year.

"As the world changes so does technology. Our hope is that conference attendees will be able to learn from Baron's presentation that there is a huge benefit of implementing new types of technologies and that if your business changes, the technology that you implement should also be able to make a change," said Andrew Bailey, President, CNG. "We are thrilled to have such a highly accomplished individual share his experiences and how they relate to everyday business with our conference attendees."

The Collaborate Conference will provide CNG customers, VARs, partners and potential customers the opportunity to explore best practices, share their ideas and discuss their thoughts about document management and how to achieve a paperless office. Enlightening conference tracks and sessions, product training, case studies and networking and collaboration opportunities will provide learning experiences for new and advanced electronic filing system users. Event sponsors include Eastman Kodak, Canon and PSIGEN Software, Inc. Several CNG customers, including Habilitative Services, Inc. and SFX Baseball, the baseball marketing and management agency for Major League Baseball, will be sharing their customer experiences at the event.
